Woman Made is a Berlin based jewellery brand founded in January 2014 with the simple aim to slow down fashion by making all-time favorite pieces that can be worn for years without them being outdated. In a world where we consume more then we can, we believe in minimalistic but irresistable designs and traditional craftmanship to fullfill our mission - creating classical lines and shapes by using raw and uncommon materials. Herefore the designer Stephanie Johne, who used to live in Peru and still has a very close connection to its culture, is inspired by the lithic monuments of Peruvian indigenous people – the Inca – who created fascinating eternal marvels of landscape with their straight and geometric architetcture based on the layering of over-dimensional stones.

For the future, we wish to find a small family runned production for our designs to not only support peruvian economics and craftmanship but also offer local manufacturers, who are still relying on old traditions and techniques, a reasonable perspective. Native peruvians have always been working with materials such as leather, copper and cotton and could supplement their great and important knowledges and experiences. Together we can create unique products rooted in Peru - inspired by its beautiful cultural heritage, made by its descendants.
